To the Editor:
The Jefferson School Committee greatly appreciates the citizens who turned out on Sept. 30 for the new school site plan proposal and straw poll. The overwhelming unanimous 92 favorable votes was an incredible result.
Now the approved site plan will go to the State for its approval and then back to the town for the beginning of the conceptual phase of the building itself. There will be many meetings of the School Committee and the Building Committee as we go into the design phase, and input of the community would be greatly appreciated. We are hoping that we will see many folks with their ideas to help make our new school a unique and valuable asset for our town.
So this is just the beginning, and we must keep the positive momentum of Sept. 30 moving. In the final phase the completed plan will go to the voters for approval. We count on community input and support to make it happen.
Thanks to all who participated, and remember that all who would like to attend are always welcome at our school committee meetings, held the first Wednesday of every month.
