To the Editor:
I am responding to the letter from Eden Spear in the May 26 issue. (“Gateway 1-when is a vote not a vote?” LCN, Page 4)
While not taking a position on Gateway 1, since the Nobleboro voters have made their position clear, I do take exception to pillorying the people who worked on Gateway 1 in the town square.
Al Railsback was appointed by the Selectmen to represent Nobleboro. He and many others spent multiple years working on the project. As a private citizen, Al continues to monitor what is happening in other groups who do not want to let the project die.
Instead of telling them to “take their ball and bat and go home,” I say, “Thank you!” We appreciate your efforts, and look forward to your continued contributions to the town.
