To the Editor:
Last Thursday the GSB PTO put on our 14th Annual Jog-a-Thon fundraising event in which every student from Kindergarten through 8th Grade jogs laps to help raise money for their school. It was a perfect day for jogging, clear and crisp, and the enthusiasm ran high.
As in any major event, credit for its great success must go to the efforts and support of many volunteers and local businesses.
Many, many thanks to all the students who jogged, danced, leaped, walked and ran through the course. Thank you for raising money to help your school.
Local businesses deserve a big “Thank you!” as well. They donated supplies, time, and gave their support in a variety of ways. Thanks to Biscay Orchards, First Federal, Postal Center USA, and Yellowfront. This event could not succeed without the support of local businesses
Finally, thank you GSB parents, family members and friends for opening your wallets during these challenging economic times. The Jog-A-Thon is the major PTO fundraiser for the year, and supports Great Salt Bay School in three major ways, funding events (plays, concerts, and field trips), scholarships (to camp and college) and supplies (like recorders for music class). The financial support of GSB families is truly appreciated and helps make GSB great.
