Wells-Hussey American Legion Post and Unit 42 in Damariscotta would like to say thank the community for supporting their toll booth fundraiser Aug. 1.
As said before, these funds are used for our youth activities. Last month we were able to send four delegates to Boys State at Thomas College in Waterville. The Auxiliary was able to send four delegates to Girls State at Husson University in Bangor.
One of the Girls State delegates, Elise Dumont, was selected by the staff to attend Girls Nation in Washington D.C. this past week to learn about government on the national level. Perhaps one day we will have a presidential candidate from these young people.
The local Little League also benefits from funds in this Americanism program.
We would like to thank Hagar Enterprises for the loan of their safety comes and barrels to keep our volunteers safe. Thank you to the volunteers and once again thank you to the community for the support.
