To the Editor:
I want to take this opportunity to thank all the people and businesses that made it possible to supply 235 Lincoln County families with Thanksgiving dinners. In order to make this happen, it takes not only a lot of planning, but also a lot of help.
From the financial donors to the local businesses and town offices to the workers who put everything together; without all of you, we would not have been able to accomplish the task before us. Since this was the first year the Ecumenical Food Pantry has taken on the task of organizing the distribution of the baskets, there was probably more confusion than normal, but everyone was patient and understanding. Thanks to Linda Blomquist and Bill Howlett for your help and support, to all our friends and neighbors who generously gave us the necessary financial support, and to all the hard workers who showed up on Monday and Tuesday mornings to put everything together.
Thanks also to Clark Cove Farm for apples; Clark’s Farm for pre-bagged potatoes; Country Farm for squash; Hannaford for their gift certificate; and last, but truly not least, Yellowfront Grocery for giving us the best price they could and for putting up with my questions and changes.
Finally, I want to thank the town office personnel for collecting names, organizing pick up and distributing the meals to the people in your towns. You all are valued and appreciated. Merry Christmas to all!
