To the Editor:
On Monday, March 1 Miles Memorial Hospital League begins a new era. This is the opening day for our new Thrift Shop/Rummage Sale at the Wheeler Building, 114 Church St. Damariscotta.
I am writing to clear up some misconceptions that have been going around. We have had a Thrift Shop on Bus Rt. 1 and a two and one half day Rummage Sale at David Chapman’s Field.
The sale at the Chapman Field will no longer happen. However the Rummage Sale has not been canceled. It is now in the Wheeler Building. The first floor is a much larger Thrift Shop with the higher end items from the Rummage Sale. The basement is whatever is left over.
Is it 10 acres of sale and parking? No. It is a changing treasure hunt that is open all year long. Donations will come in and be put up for sale as soon as there is room for them. It is bright, pretty, interesting and has bargains galore.
We need all of your wonderful donations and our Drop Off is still in the same place, Belvedere Rd., Damariscotta.
The League is very excited about our new venture and we know that you will be also once you have seen it. Remember all of your donations make money for Miles Hospital and Miles touches all of us in some way.
We have had your support in the past and we need it now and in the future. We will need a lot of volunteers to make this work year round. You can leave your name with the cashier at the Wheeler Building.
This is a wonderful community to work with. The Miles Memorial Hospital League appreciates all that you do for us.
