To the Editor:
Not one of our representatives to the Congress read the alleged “stimulus” bill. Now we find out the AIG bonuses were included in it. The President said it was critical that it be passed immediately – or else. He is now “surprised” and “shocked” at the bonuses.
His Treasury Secretary and a senior Democratic Senator lied. In their indignation, some in Congress want to tax the bonuses at 90 percent.
Anyone who voted for the “stimulus” and now screams for taxation beyond the norm, or demands return of the bonuses should be reminded of their hasty support of the bill. They should also review the section of the Constitution that deals with bills of attainder. Perhaps Mr. Biden’s extensive knowledge of the Constitution could be of help.
President Teleprompter knew what was in the bill he signed. For him to appear shocked is cynical and hypocritical. All those who supported this dreadful bill should publicly apologize to the voters for their agreeing with this dismal, poorly thought out, pork infested joke.
