To the Editor:
We have been struggling for the past year in Round Pond. Our village has tried to unite over the purchase of the last buildable lot facing our harbor. The people of Round Pond are skeptical that we can reach our goal of $380,000 by the middle of July this year!
We are going to make it! We do not want this beautiful scenic spot to vanish; we want lupines, paths, and open vistas across to Southern Point. We want our children, our dogs, and our descendants to be able to frolic there, launch kayaks, swim at high tide, and search for the great fragments of sea glass that wash in to its rocky crevasses.
We need your support.
If every household and everyone who cares about Round Pond gave $5, we would make our goal!
We have an anonymous matching fund offer. If five people come forward donating $5,000 each, our angel will match each $5,000 gift totaling $25,000, which would add $50,000 to our rising balance.
Come on Round Pond, please, let’s get this done! We have 21 days from today to meet our goal, so we can all enjoy this legacy forever! Donations may be sent to Save the Lupine Meadow, Round Pond, Maine, 04564.
