To the Editor:
Did the legislature fix the DHHS budget? I do not think so. When you borrow money from the 2013 budget to make the 2012 budget work what did we gain? I think we kicked the can down the road again.
I really thought that this legislature was going to do the right thing. What happened? We chose not to solve the problem in 2012. Do you really think we are going to solve it in 2013?
The politicians do not think the people want to solve this problem. What do you think? Do you think we should borrow money and not worry about how we are going to pay it back? Do you think we should continue to not pay the hospitals what we owe them? Do you think the State of Maine has more money than it knows what to do with and it is hiding it somewhere and is just not giving it to the people who need it?
I think we have more money going out than we are taking in. I think the budget problem is not going to be solved until we reverse this trend. I guess the real problem is that we need to take in more money. Instead of shooting each other with all those political arrows why don’t we just solve the real problem?
Let’s figure out how to take in more money without borrowing it and without raising taxes. Can you say more jobs?
