To the Editor:
Wiscasset Redskins/ Wiscasset Warriors. Canadians, Frenchman, Flatlanders or those people — from away. It certainly is interesting what a word or phrase will invoke in the emotions and takes on money and time. We could do something more important things like put people to work, cure cancer, teach our kids.
How about if the Wiscasset Redskins changed their name to the Wiscasset Liberals?
The point is that people are jerking your chain under the guise of calling you a bigot while pointing out how bigoted they are. Just how many Rams does Cony High in Augusta have going to school or how many people from PETA are being offended by that fact? Where are those Fightin’ Irish from anyway? Can’t forget about Big Red or can we?
