The comments below are my views alone and are not intended to represent either the views of the Wiscasset Board of Selectmen or any other selectman.
On June 11 less than 14 percent of Wiscasset voters participated in the vote on the town budget for the coming fiscal year. A number of the budget articles failed to pass. Decisions made by such a small group (~8 percent) of the voters may not be in the best interest of our community and may not reflect the desires of the majority.
A workshop, including the board of selectmen and the budget committee is scheduled for July 2, at 5 p.m. at the Town Meeting Room to discuss the failed articles. This workshop provides an opportunity to understand the various positions on the issues facing our community, voice your opinions and subsequently make your own informed decisions.
Please join us at the workshop. Wiscasset is shaped by the results of the choices and decisions we make.
