An Edgecomb man faces two misdemeanor sex-crime charges in connection with incidents in Boothbay last month involving a 14-year-old girl.
David P. Clifford Jr., 22, of Edgecomb, faces two counts of class D sexual abuse of a minor, according to court documents.
Clifford allegedly admitted to the abuse, according to an affidavit by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Ken Hatch.
Hatch arrested Clifford on Friday, April 1. He was released on $500 cash bail Tuesday, April 5, according to personnel at Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset. His bail conditions prohibit contact with any child under the age of 16.
Clifford is scheduled to appear at the Lincoln County Courthouse at 8:30 a.m. May 23.
