The Maine State Police Computer Crimes Unit arrested a Jefferson man and charged him with possession of child pornography the morning of Tuesday, Jan. 31.
Vincent Maltese, 51, was arrested at his 810 Augusta Road home and taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset, where he was later freed on bail.
Investigators conducted an initial review of Maltese’s computer and electronic devices at the house, finding “hundreds of images of child porn,” according to a press release from Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland. The equipment was seized and will be further analyzed at unit headquarters in Vassalboro.
Investigators went to the home after receiving a tip, McCausland said. Maltese is unemployed.
Maltese is scheduled to appear at the Lincoln County Courthouse on April 27.
