Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On June 9, Deputy Chad Gilbert responded to a report of a theft by deception incident in the Jefferson area. The complainant said he had received a phone call from someone with a foreign accent saying something was wrong with his computer and it could be fixed for $200. After giving remote access to his computer and being asked for an additional $500, he realized it was a scam and called the sheriff’s office. Deputy Gilbert advised it was a scam and he should take his computer to get it fixed.
On June 10, Deputy 1st Class Brian Collamore was dispatched to a report of criminal mischief to a door of a residence in the Newcastle area. It appeared as if someone had used a tool to try to pry open the door, however, no entry was made. Further investigation will follow if any leads come forth.
On June 12, Deputy 1st Class Mark Bridgham was dispatched to a report of a theft by deception incident in the East Boothbay area. The complainant said she had been notified that someone had made unauthorized purchases on her debit card. Her bank will issue her a new card.
June 8, Benjamin B. Waldrop, 26, of Vineyard Haven, Mass., was issued a summons for failure to register vehicle, on Biscay Road, Damariscotta, by Detective Scott Hayden.
June 8, Blake E. Gray, 57, of Warren, was issued a summons for illegal attachment of registration plates, on Route 1, Newcastle, by Sgt. Matthew Day.
June 12, Jeremy M. Augusta, 29, of Lisbon Falls, was issued a summons for illegal attachment of registration plates, on Sheepscot Road, Newcastle, by Deputy 1st Class Collamore.
June 7, Michael D. Quattrucci, 41, of Bristol, was arrested for domestic violence assault, on Bristol Road, Bristol, by Detective Terry Michaud.
June 8, Samuel H. Winchenbach, 53, of Jefferson, was arrested on a Wiscasset District Court warrant for non-compliance with a contempt order, on Linscott Road, Jefferson, by Deputy Ryan Chubbuck.
June 9, Tommy L. White, 29, of Whitefield, was arrested on six Augusta Unified Court warrants for failure to appear, on Wiscasset Road, Whitefield, by Detective Hayden.
June 11, Lisa M. Green, 49, of Bath, was arrested for domestic violence assault and criminal mischief, on Gardiner Road, Dresden, by Deputy Caleb Poirier.
June 12, Leslie C. Blenkhorn, 58, of Glendale, Calif., was arrested for domestic violence assault, on Sunset Vista Road, Edgecomb, by Deputy 1st Class Collamore, who was assisted by Deputy Kevin Dennison.
June 12, Herman N. Wright IV, 31, of Edgecomb, was arrested for violating condition of release, on Wawenock Road, Edgecomb, by Deputy Chubbuck.
June 13, Charles J. Cann, 45, of Las Vegas, Nev., was arrested for operating under the influence – one prior, on Route 1, Newcastle, by Deputy 1st Class Brigham.
On June 7, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Nobleboro involving Dorothy A. Grigor, 54, of Rockland, and Gail L. Swanton, 70, of Westport Island. Grigor was operating her 2011 Chrysler 200 northbound behind Swanton’s 2016 Toyota Prius, when Grigor entered the southbound travel lane to overtake Swanton’s vehicle. Grigor improperly steered upon returning to the northbound travel lane and struck Swanton’s vehicle. Sgt. Jason Nein was the investigating officer.
On June 7, an accident occurred on State Route 32 in Bristol involving Hannah R. Hewes, 18, of Bristol. Hewes was operating her 1996 Honda Accord northbound when she lost control around a curve. As a result, her vehicle went off the roadway and struck a utility pole. Deputy Gilbert was the investigating officer.
On June 8, an accident occurred on Patterson Road in Dresden involving Wanda Lemar, 52, of Dresden. Lemar was operating her 2011 Subaru Impreza eastbound when a deer jumped out and ran into the driver’s side of her vehicle. Deputy Chubbuck was the investigating officer.
On June 9, an accident occurred on Borland Hill Road in Nobleboro involving Tiffany L. York, 30, of Nobleboro, and David Bolling, 54, of Nobleboro. York was operating her 2000 Chevrolet Blazer eastbound and Bolling was operating his 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, towing a small trailer, westbound. The two vehicles met at the crest of a rise in the roadway and York was in the travel lane of Bolling’s vehicle. As a result, York sideswiped Bolling’s vehicle. Sgt. Alan Shea was the investigating officer.
On June 10, a car fire occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Thomas P. Brewer, 36, of New Harbor. Brewer was operating his 2000 Volvo northbound when the engine compartment caught on fire due to a squirrel nest in the air filter box. Deputy 1st Class Collamore was the investigating officer.
On June 10, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Newcastle involving Dwight A. Moore, 53, of Phippsburg, and Margaret R. Forelli, 19, of Darien, Conn. Moore was operating his 2015 Volvo southbound on Route 1 and Forelli was pulling her 2014 Jeep Cherokee out of Mike’s Place, preparing to travel northbound on Route 1. Forelli pulled out in front of Moore’s vehicle and both vehicles collided. Deputy Gilbert was the investigating officer.
