Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On March 30, Deputy Chad Gilbert responded to a report of a theft of a wood splitter (value: $4,000) from a work site on the Waldoboro Road in Bremen. The complainant said that sometime between 4 p.m. March 28 and 8:30 a.m. March 29, someone had stolen the Super Split wood splitter. Further investigation to follow.
March 29, Ryan V. Blastow, 34, of Warren, was issued a summons for driving to endanger, on Route 1, Damariscotta, by Detective Jared Mitkus.
April 3, Aaron Heald, 38, of Cushing, was issued summonses for operating vehicle without a license and violating condition of release, on Route 1, Damariscotta, by Sgt. Brendan Kane.
March 23, Courtney E. Peaslee, 25, of Whitefield, was arrested for class C unlawful possession of scheduled drug, class D unlawful possession of scheduled drug, violating condition of release, and probation violation, on Hilton Road, Whitefield, by Detective Mitkus, who was assisted by Detective Scott Hayden.
March 30, Kevin W. Kimball, 59, of Dresden, was arrested for domestic violence reckless conduct and obstructing report of crime, on Blueberry Lane, Dresden, by Deputy Kevin Dennison, who was assisted by Deputy Ryan Chubbuck.
April 1, Joey Lee Peaslee, 35, of Jefferson, was arrested for violating condition of release, on North Mountain Road, Jefferson, by Deputy Caleb Poirier.
April 1, Adam T. Benner, 31, of Nobleboro, was arrested for domestic violence assault, on East Neck Road, Nobleboro, by Deputy Chubbuck.
April 1, Jesse N. Cogar, 21, of Bristol, was arrested for violating condition of release, on West Strand Road, Bristol, by Deputy Justin Drake, who was assisted by Sgt. Kane.
April 3, Nehemias M. Umana, 32, of Winterport, was arrested on two warrants out of Penobscot County and Waldo County for failure to pay fines, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Detective Hayden.
April 3, Jason A. Stickney, 32, of Whitefield, was arrested on two Lincoln County warrants for failure to pay fines, on Hilton Road, Whitefield, by Detective Mitkus.
On March 29, an accident occurred on Augusta Road in Whitefield involving Nicholas A. Brown, 30, of Rockport; Codey O. Bell, 23, of Augusta; and Hannah R. Spears, 23, of Augusta. Bell was entering the roadway from Tina’s Daycare in his 2002 Saturn and Spears was operating her 2012 Chevrolet Captiva westbound when she struck Bell’s vehicle. The front bumper of Bell’s vehicle came off his vehicle and entered the eastbound lane. Brown was operating his 2010 Subaru Forester eastbound and struck the bumper. Deputy Dennison was the investigating officer.
On March 30, an accident occurred on Augusta Road in Jefferson involving Tyler Luia, 47, of Pittston, and Gabriel J. Solorzano, 19, of Jefferson. Luia was operating his 2012 Ford southbound and Solorzano was crossing Route 32 from North Mountain Road to South Mountain Road in his 2013 Ford Explorer when Solorzano failed to stop at a stop sign and pulled in front of Luia’s vehicle, causing a collision. Deputy Gilbert was the investigating officer.
On March 31, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Newcastle involving Joshua L. Williams, 21, of Sebago. Williams was operating his 2009 Chevrolet 2500 southbound when he said he fell asleep. The vehicle entered the breakdown lane and left the roadway, causing it to roll and come to rest. Detective Mitkus was the investigating officer.
On March 31, an accident occurred on Common Drive in Boothbay involving Francois Ciza, 41, of Lewiston. Ciza was operating his 2006 Jeep Liberty northbound when he failed to negotiate a turn, causing his vehicle to drive across Corey Lane and roll into a cemetery. Deputy Chubbuck was the investigating officer.
On April 1, an accident occurred on Augusta Road in Jefferson involving Stephen C. Carleton, 20, of Waldoboro. Carleton was operating his 2003 Oldsmobile Alero northbound and due to slippery road conditions and inadequate tires on the front of his vehicle, he lost control, went off the right side of the roadway, and struck a tree. Deputy 1st Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On April 1, an accident occurred on Sunset Road in Boothbay involving Aaron D. Durgan, 23, of Boothbay Harbor. Durgan was operating a 2007 Ford F-550 and plowing the town roadway when he struck a tree. Deputy 1st Class Collamore was the investigating officer.
On April 3, an accident occurred on Boothbay Road in Edgecomb involving Jane H. Planty, 71, of Bristol. Planty was operating her 2015 Toyota Rav4 southbound when a deer ran into the passenger side of her vehicle. Deputy 1st Class Collamore was the investigating officer.
On April 3, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Waldoboro involving Samantha M. Gonzales, 22, of Cushing, and James I. Bowers, 41, of Damariscotta. Gonzales was operating her 2004 Hyundai Elantra northbound and Bowers was operating his 2016 Ford F-150 southbound, when Bowers reached down for sunglasses, causing his vehicle to cross the centerline and strike Gonzales’ vehicle. Deputy Gilbert was the investigating officer.
