Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On June 16, Deputy Jonathan Colby was dispatched to a report of criminal mischief to a residence in the Bristol area. The complainant said that when she arrived at the residence to clean, she noticed a rock had been thrown through a window (approximate damage is $200). Further investigation if leads develop.
On June 18, Sgt. Mark Bridgham was dispatched to a report of criminal mischief to a residence in the Alna area. The complainant said that when they arrived home on this date, they noticed a large picture window (approximate damage is $1,100) had been damaged by a rock. Further investigation if leads develop.
Arrests
June 13, Darleen M. Dobson, 54, of Wiscasset, was arrested for operating under the influence, on McKay Road, Edgecomb, by Deputy Caleb Poirier.
June 15, Zachery Giberson, 26, of Rumford, was arrested on a warrant out of Portland Superior Court for failure to appear, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Transport Deputy William Owen.
June 17, Jacob Walmer, 30, of Whitefield, was arrested for terrorizing and refusing to submit to arrest or detention, on Heath Road, Whitefield, by Deputy Justin Drake, who was assisted by Sgt. Aaron Beck.
June 18, Sarah McLain, 21, of Damariscotta, was arrested for domestic violence assault, on Route 1, Nobleboro, by Deputy Kevin Dennison, who was assisted by Reserve Deputy Lucas Bickford.
Accidents
On June 13, an accident occurred on McKay Road in Edgecomb involving Darleen M. Dobson, 54, of Wiscasset. Dobson was operating her 2008 Nissan Rogue westbound when she lost control of her vehicle, drove off the roadway on the right side, and entered a ditch, causing unknown damage to the undercarriage of her vehicle. Deputy Poirier was the investigating officer.
On June 13, an accident occurred on Main Street in Newcastle involving Edward E. Benner, 27, of South Portland, and Liudmyla A. Nichols, 41, of Boothbay Harbor. Nichols had stopped her 2012 Ford Focus in the road at a crosswalk. Benner was following too closely in his 2008 Chevrolet Silverado and rear-ended Nichols’ vehicle. Deputy Colby was the investigating officer.
On June 15, an accident occurred on Route 32 in Bristol involving Nikolas A. Poland, 25, of Bremen. Poland was operating his 2005 Ford F-150 southbound when his vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and struck a mailbox, then a tree. Poland said he experienced some type of mechanical trouble with the vehicle’s steering. Deputy 1st Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On June 15, an accident occurred on Calls Hill Road in Dresden involving Scott A. Colby, 43, of Wiscasset. Colby was operating his 2004 Volvo 60 southbound when he said he fell asleep. As a result, his vehicle crossed the centerline and exited the roadway on the left. His vehicle then came to final rest in the ditch on the left side of the road. Deputy Chase Bosse was the investigating officer.
On June 16, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Cynthia M. Cheney, 55, of Bristol. Cheney was operating her 2015 Chevrolet Cruze southbound when a deer entered the roadway from the southbound ditch and struck the front of her vehicle. Deputy Dennison was the investigating officer.
On June 17, an accident occurred on Grand Army Road in Whitefield involving Nicholas J. Young, 23, of Portland. Young was operating his 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser northbound when, due to driving too fast for the curve in the road and the wet road surface, he lost control of his vehicle and exited the roadway on the right side. His vehicle then slid down into the ditch and came to final rest. Deputy Bosse was the investigating officer.
