Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
Accidents
On Aug. 21, an accident occurred on Ocean Point Road in Boothbay involving Corey Payer, 40, of Portland. Payer was operating a 2013 Toyota Prius west on Ocean Point Road when a deer crossed the road in front of him. Payer was unable to stop in time and struck the deer. Deputy Caleb Poirier was the investigating officer.
On Aug. 23, an accident occurred on East Pond Road in Nobleboro involving Gregory W. Bond, 55, of Jefferson. Bond was operating his 2008 Toyota Avalon northbound when a deer entered the roadway from the left side of the road and was struck. Deputy Jonathan Colby was the investigating officer.
On Aug. 23, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Hannah R. Hewes, 19, of Bristol. Hewes was operating her 2002 Honda Civic southbound when she fell asleep. As a result, her vehicle drifted across the median and exited the road on the right, coming to a final rest at the tree line on the right side of the road. Deputy Chase Bosse was the investigating officer.
Summonses
On Aug. 25, Jeff Hayward, 47, of Edgecomb, was summonsed by Detective Scott Hayden for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. He was summonsed in the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office in regards to an incident that took place in Boothbay in May.
On Aug. 25, Zachariah Mountain, 28, of Waterville, was summonsed by Detective Hayden for theft by deception. He was summonsed in Waterville in regards to an incident that took place in Jefferson in July.
