Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On Oct. 5, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Florin Ungureanu, 29, of New Harbor. Ungureanu was traveling north in his 2009 BMW 3 Series when a deer entered the roadway and he struck it. Deputy Jonathan Colby was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 5, an accident occurred on Rockland Road in Whitefield involving William ONeil, 54, of Newcastle; Darren Haskell, 52, of Windsor; and David Sheppard, 49, of Washington. Haskell was westbound in his 2014 GMC and stopped in traffic. Sheppard was westbound in a 2016 Ford Transit, slowing down. ONeil was westbound in a 2004 Chevrolet 2500 and struck the rear of Sheppard’s vehicle. Sheppard’s vehicle then struck the rear of Haskell’s vehicle. Deputy 1st Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 15, Deputy John Braley arrested Casey Ryder, 27, of Boothbay, for fugitive from justice.
On Oct. 5, Deputy Chase Bosse arrested Tucker Lewis, 23, of Boothbay, for a probation violation.
On Oct. 11, Detective Scott Hayden summonsed Henry Leathers, 48, of Rome, for felony theft by unauthorized taking or transfer. He was summonsed in Gardiner. The theft took place in Edgecomb in May.
On Oct. 6, Deputy Justin Drake investigated a complaint of criminal mischief and criminal trespass at the Boothbay Region Water District. A chain-link fence had been cut and wire along the top of the fence had been pushed down. At this time there are no suspects or witnesses. The investigation will continue as new leads develop.
