Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to a total of 627 calls for the period of Oct. 10-24. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 14,989 calls.
Oct. 22, Corey E. Johnson, 28, of Friendship, was issued a summons for operating while license is suspended or revoked, on Egypt Road, Damariscotta, by Deputy John Braley.
Oct. 22, Tyler L. Abbott, 40, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons for leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, on Augusta Road, Jefferson, by Deputy Justin Drake.
Oct. 9, Jacob W. Tillman, 24, of Wiscasset, was arrested on a Lincoln County District Court warrant for unpaid fines, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Deputy Chase Bosse.
Oct. 17, Jesse Bagley, 28, of Newcastle, was arrested on a South Portland warrant for failure to register a motor vehicle, on Sheepscot Road, Newcastle, by Deputy Ryan Chubbuck.
On Oct. 17, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road (rotary) in Boothbay involving Ralph L. Tirrell, 91, of Boothbay Harbor, and Jordan R. Coffin, 25, of Westport Island. Coffin was rounding the rotary in his 2003 Ford F-350 when Tirrell failed to yield the right-of-way when entering the rotary in his 2001 Honda Accord. As a result, Coffin struck Tirrell’s vehicle. Deputy 1st Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 19, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Claire I. Magnant, 85, of Acushnet, Mass., and Cynthia J. Martin, 24, of Boothbay. Magnant was operating her 2005 Toyota Matrix northbound and slowing to make a right turn. Martin was traveling behind Magnant in her 2016 Ford Focus and, due to a sudden slowing by Magnant to make the right turn, Martin struck the rear of her vehicle. Deputy 1st Class Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 20, an accident occurred on Gardiner Road in Whitefield involving Ronald J. Finlay, 24, of Wiscasset. Finlay was operating his 2005 Ford Explorer westbound when a deer crossed the road from the left side and was struck. Deputy Jonathan Colby was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 20, an accident occurred on Back River Road in Boothbay involving Jacob E. Morton, 17, of Boothbay. Morton was operating his 2008 Volkswagen Jetta southbound, traveling over the posted speed limit. As a result, his vehicle left the roadway on the right. Morton then overcorrected, crossed the centerline, and exited the roadway on the left side, where his vehicle came to final rest on the passenger side in a ditch. Deputy Bosse was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 20, an accident occurred on Bayview Road in Nobleboro involving Mark C. Manowski, 39, of Newcastle, and Taylor M. Briggs, 66, of Newcastle. Manowski was operating his 2017 GMC northbound when he reached down for a power cable and, when he looked back up, he was unable to avoid striking Briggs, who was operating her bicycle, with the right front passenger corner of his vehicle. Deputy Drake was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 21, an accident occurred on Pond Road in Newcastle involving Kimberly C. Toscano, 39, of Newcastle. Toscano was operating her 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound when a deer entered the roadway and was struck, causing front-end damage to her vehicle. Deputy Drake was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 22, an accident occurred on Augusta Road in Jefferson involving Tyler L. Abbott, 40, of Waldoboro. Abbott was operating his 2011 Nissan Pathfinder southbound when a deer entered the roadway. Abbott swerved to avoid striking the deer, which resulted in his vehicle leaving the roadway and striking a telephone pole. Deputy Drake was the investigating officer.
