Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 244 calls for the period of April 25 to May 1. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 4,856 calls for service.
On April 30, Deputy David Bellows responded to a report of a theft of a 2007 Yamaha 40-horsepower outboard motor (value: $2,000) from a 1983 pontoon boat, which was for sale, in the Dresden area. Further investigation will follow if leads develop.
Arrests
April 24, Gregory M. Doray, 28, of Wiscasset, was arrested on a Rockingham County (New Hampshire) Sheriff’s Office warrant, on Gardiner Road, Dresden, by Detective Jared Mitkus.
April 26, Patrick A. Thayer Jr., 28, of Whitefield, was arrested for violating condition of release, on Petticoat Acres Lane, Whitefield, by Deputy Jonathan Colby.
Accidents
On April 24, an accident occurred on Main Road on Westport Island involving Randy J. Brown, 58, of Westport Island. Brown was operating his 2010 Chevrolet 1500 northbound when he came upon multiple deer standing in the roadway. Brown was unable to avoid striking one of the deer. Deputy Colby was the investigating officer.
On April 25, an accident occurred on Lincoln Lane in Newcastle involving Bruce J. Russell, 61, of Newcastle. Russell was backing his 1998 Freightliner FL80 down a driveway when it became entangled in an overhead line, causing the lines to be pulled down. Deputy Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.
