Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 330 calls for the period of May 8-15. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 5,432 calls for service.
On May 8, Deputy Kevin Dennison was dispatched to a complaint of a burglary/criminal mischief to a summer residence in the Bremen area. Further investigation will follow if leads develop.
On May 11, Deputy 1st Class Brian Collamore was dispatched to a report of a burglary/criminal mischief to a summer residence in the Bristol area. Further investigation will follow.
On May 12, Sgt. Mark Bridgham was dispatched to a report of a break-in at a summer residence on Bremen Long Island. Upon investigating, Sgt. Bridgham, who was assisted by Detective Sgt. Ronald Rollins and Detective Scott Hayden, discovered that four other residences had also been broken into. Further investigation will follow.
May 10, Raymond P. Seiders Jr., 49, of Dresden, was issued a summons for failure to comply with sex offender registry act – first offense, at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Wiscasset, by Detective Sgt. Rollins.
May 10, Sean A. Boynton, 50, of Jefferson, was issued a summons for unlawful possession of scheduled drug, on Miles Street, Damariscotta, by Deputy Jonathan Colby.
May 11, Karl V. Kittridge, 53, of Pittston, was issued a violation summons and complaint for operating after suspension, on Augusta Road, Jefferson, by Sgt. Bridgham.
May 4, Michael A. Steben, 18, of Bristol, was arrested for theft by unauthorized use of property, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, and burglary of a motor vehicle, on Huddle Road, Bristol, by Deputy 1st Class Collamore. This was the result of a theft and motor-vehicle crash on April 28 in Bristol.
May 4, Roger F. Plourde, 19, of Jefferson, was arrested on a warrant for burglary to a motor vehicle, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, and unauthorized use of motor vehicle, on South Clary Road, Jefferson, by Detective Hayden. This was the result of a theft and motor-vehicle crash on April 28 in Bristol.
May 8, Brooke E. Cheney, 26, of Bristol, was arrested for domestic violence assault, on Upper Round Pond Road, Bristol, by Sgt. Aaron Beck, who was assisted by Deputy Caleb Poirier.
May 12, Brent L. Ayotte, 44, of Windsor, was arrested on a Kennebec County District Court warrant for burglary and theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, on Augusta Road, Whitefield, by Reserve Deputy Dwight Fowles.
On May 9, an accident occurred on Route 129 in South Bristol involving Cynthia K. Clifford, 58, of Walpole. Clifford was operating her 2016 Honda Pilot northbound when she observed a deer enter the roadway from the northbound ditch and struck the deer as it entered the road. Deputy Dennison was the investigating officer.
On May 10, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Newcastle involving Madeleine E. Weisman, 28, of Bethesda, Md., and Deborah L. Moore, 65, of Waldoboro. Moore was operating her 2005 Ford Freestyle northbound and was slowing in traffic, attempting to make a left turn into Mike’s Place gas station. Weisman was also traveling northbound in her 2011 Toyota Camry when she struck the rear of Moore’s vehicle, causing Weisman to leave the roadway on the right side, where her vehicle then struck a tree. Moore said she had her left directional on and a separate witness said the same, however, Weisman said she didn’t see Moore stopping in traffic. Sgt. Beck was the investigating officer.
On May 11, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Nobleboro involving Jonathan W. Perry, 51, of Waldoboro, and Jeffrey S. Osborne, 31, of San Francisco, Calif. Perry was operating his 2016 Chevrolet Silverado northbound behind Osborne’s 2004 Int’l Harvester truck when a solar panel mounted on Osborne’s roof detached and struck the front driver’s side corner of Perry’s vehicle. Deputy David Bellows was the investigating officer.
On May 12, an accident occurred on Blinn Hill Road in Dresden involving Christopher H. Hastings, 50, of Rapid City, S.D. Hastings was operating his 2010 Nissan Pathfinder when he became confused by his passenger’s directions and failed to negotiate a curve. As a result, his vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and came to rest on the right side of the vehicle. Deputy 1st Class Collamore was the investigating officer.
On May 12, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Lynn B. Kimball, 78, of New Harbor. Kimball was operating her 2013 Toyota Prius southbound and, due to a possible medical issue, Kimball crossed the centerline. Her vehicle then went off the left side of the roadway and came to rest in a ditch. Deputy 1st Class Collamore was the investigating officer.
On May 13, an accident occurred on Main Road on Westport Island involving Amanda E. Wade, 34, of Westport Island. Wade was operating her 2015 BMW 3 southbound when several deer crossed the roadway in front of her and she was unable to avoid striking one. Deputy Poirier was the investigating officer.
