Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 262 calls for the period of Sept. 18-25. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 12,886 calls for service.
On Sept. 19, Deputy Kevin Dennison was dispatched to a theft of a 10-foot blue/white paddleboat (value: $700) from a residence in the Nobleboro area. The complainant said that about a week ago, he tied the boat to his dock, and when he returned, it was missing. Further investigation will follow if leads develop.
On Sept. 22, Deputy Andrew Miner was dispatched to a report of a theft of three wooden buoys from a residence in Boothbay. The complainant was unsure when they were taken. No further information is available at this time.
Sept. 24, Grady A. Hayford, 24, of Bristol, was issued a summons for operating after suspension, on Academy Hill, Newcastle, by Deputy Alonzo Connor.
Sept. 24, Jenna Burt-Weeks, 37, of Newcastle, was issued a summons for negotiating a worthless instrument, on Perkins Point Road, Newcastle, by Deputy Connor.
Sept. 19, Christopher D. Kelly, 37, of Brunswick, was arrested on a warrant out of Cumberland County for failure to appear, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Deputy 1st Class Brian Collamore.
Sept. 21, Caroline R. Hyson, 32, of South Bristol, was arrested on a Missouri warrant for failure to appear on a charge of vehicle theft, on Route 129, South Bristol, by Deputy Jonathan Colby.
Sept. 22, Darlene M. Russell, 56, of Bath, was arrested for operating under the influence, on River Road, Dresden, by Deputy Miner.
Sept. 23, Natasha L. Gardiner, 28, of Jefferson, was arrested for operating under the influence, on Washington Road, Jefferson, by Deputy Connor.
Accidents and vehicle fire
On Sept. 18, an accident occurred on Benner Road in Bristol involving Brianna E. Farrin, 17, of Damariscotta, and Rachel Hansen, 51, of Bristol. Farrin was operating her 2015 Chevrolet Cruze westbound when she crossed the centerline and hit Hansen’s 2010 Hummer H3, which was traveling eastbound, in the rear driver’s side end. Deputy Connor was the investigating officer.
Sept. 18, an accident occurred on Bremen Road in Nobleboro involving Owen J. Gilbert, 20, of Waldoboro. Gilbert was operating his 2004 Toyota Tacoma northbound when he crossed the centerline and hit a tree. Deputy Connor was the investigating officer.
On Sept. 19, an accident occurred on Hilton Road in Whitefield involving Ervin E. Fyfe, 51, of Pittston. Fyfe was operating his 1996 Buick Century eastbound when he swerved to avoid a deer that ran into the roadway, causing him to go off the roadway and strike a tree. Deputy 1st Class Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Sept. 19, an accident occurred on Alna Road in Alna involving William E. Hanson, 55, of Alna. Hanson was operating his 2008 Ford Focus northbound when he looked over to check on his passenger and lost control of his vehicle. As a result, his vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and struck a support wire for a CMP pole. The pole then broke off halfway up, causing the top of the pole to fall and land in the roadway. Deputy 1st Class Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Sept. 20, an accident occurred on Waldoboro Road in Bremen involving David Adnopoz, 82, of Bremen. Adnopoz was operating his 2000 Subaru Outback southbound when his vehicle entered the ditch and struck a rock, which caused his vehicle to go airborne, strike a tree, and roll over. Deputy Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.
On Sept. 21, an accident occurred on Old County Road in Bristol involving John F. Geyer, 61, of Bristol. Geyer was operating his 2018 Ford F-150 southbound when his vehicle was struck on the passenger side by a deer. Deputy Connor was the investigating officer.
On Sept. 22, an accident occurred on Academy Hill in Newcastle involving James S. Poland, 50, of Warren, and Mark W. Kunesh, 22, of Warren. Kunesh had legally parked his 2018 Jeep Wrangler at Lincoln Academy during homecoming events. Poland was operating a 2014 Bluebird school bus and turned the corner, where he struck Kunesh’s vehicle. Sgt. Mark Bridgham was the investigating officer.
On Sept. 23, an accident occurred on Washington Road in Jefferson involving Natasha L. Gardiner, 28, of Jefferson. Gardiner was operating her 2014 Toyota Camry eastbound when she fell asleep. As a result, her vehicle struck the guardrail and continued into the brush, where she struck some CMP guide wires before the vehicle came to rest in the embankment. Deputy Connor was the investigating officer.
On Sept. 23, an accident occurred on Hinks Road in Jefferson involving Nicholas D. Ouellette, 34, of Jefferson. Ouellette was operating his 2009 Ford Fusion northbound when he became distracted by a dog in the vehicle. As a result, his vehicle crossed over the centerline and struck a tree on the southbound embankment head-on. Sgt. Bridgham was the investigating officer.
On Sept. 23, an incident occurred on Rockland Road in Somerville involving Deborah C. Morrison, 56, of Rockland. Morrison was operating her 2008 Honda Element northbound when she pulled to the paved shoulder of the roadway and stopped, after which her vehicle caught fire. Reserve Deputy Michael Elwell was the investigating officer.
