Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 443 calls for service for the period of Dec. 18-27. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 16,509 calls for service.
On Dec. 24, Deputy Alonzo Connor was dispatched to a report of criminal mischief to a mailbox (approximate value: $50) in the Bremen area.
Dec. 22, Aaron W. Ashton, 37, of Alna, was issued a summons for assault, on Cross Road, Alna, by Reserve Deputy Dwight Fowles.
Dec. 19, Aaron McKeller, 29, of Whitefield, was arrested for domestic violence assault, on Clover Lane, Whitefield, by Detective Scott Hayden.
Dec. 21, Russell E. Trinka, 32, of Bath, was arrested on a Brunswick Police Department warrant for theft, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Lt. Brendan Kane.
Dec. 21, Brandon T. Cookson, 29, of Boothbay, was arrested on a Lincoln County District Court warrant for failure to appear on charges of violating condition of release and refusing to submit to arrest, on Kimballtown Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Chase Bosse, assisted by Detective Jared Mitkus.
Dec. 24, Arthur H. Kee, 58, of Waldoboro, was arrested for theft by receiving stolen property, on Route 1, Newcastle, by Deputy 1st Class Brian Collamore.
Dec. 25, Adam M. Peaslee, 27, of Dresden was arrested for operating under the influence (one prior) and failing to stop for an officer, on James Eddy Road, Dresden, by Deputy Caleb Poirier.
Dec. 27, Brittny E. Freeman, 27, of Topsham, was arrested on a Cumberland County warrant for failure to appear, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Reserve Deputy Michael Elwell.
Dec. 27, Michael R. Emond, 33, of Jefferson, was arrested for domestic violence assault, on Munsey Road, Jefferson, by Deputy 1st Class Collamore.
On Dec. 18, an accident occurred on East Pond Road in Nobleboro involving Cheyenne L. Cash, 18, of Bristol. Cash was operating her 2014 Ford Escape westbound and, due to ice that melted, then refroze on the road surface, she lost control of her vehicle, which went down an embankment and rolled over before coming to rest upright. Deputy 1st Class Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 20, an accident occurred on Lakeview Drive in Bristol involving Cameron Jonah, 21, of Nobleboro, and Haley J. Bezon, 36, of Bristol. Jonah was operating his 2008 Toyota Matrix southbound and traveling too fast for the icy road conditions when he hit the driver’s side of Bezon’s 2015 Toyota Sienna. Bezon was operating her vehicle northbound and was driving too fast for the icy road conditions when her vehicle was struck. Deputy Bosse was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 21, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Zeth A. Williams-Benner, 26, of Pemaquid. Williams-Benner was operating his 2000 Subaru Impreza northbound when an unknown vehicle was traveling southbound in the center of the roadway. As a result, Williams-Benner’s vehicle left the right side of the northbound lane and struck a mailbox. He then overcorrected and fishtailed; his vehicle left the right side of the roadway again, struck another mailbox, and overturned. Deputy David Bellows was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 21, an accident occurred on Gibbs Road in Wiscasset involving Warren J. Cossette, 51, of Wiscasset. Cossette was operating his 2006 Toyota Tundra eastbound when his vehicle started to slide. As a result, he crossed the centerline and went off the roadway on the left, then went down into the ditch and hit a tree. Deputy Jonathan Colby was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 21, an accident occurred on Alna Road in Alna involving John R. Baird, 53, of Alna. Baird was operating his 1999 Dodge 1500 northbound when he hit a patch of black ice and began to slide into a ditch, where he ended up rolling over onto the driver’s side. Deputy Connor was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 21, an accident occurred on Lower Round Pond Road in Bristol involving James G. Doughty, 39, of Wiscasset; Steven C. Masters, 57, of Bristol; and Paul W. Smith, 63, of Newcastle. Doughty was operating his 2008 Dodge 1500 eastbound when he was unable to make the turn at the bottom of the hill and left the right side of the roadway, where the front of his vehicle impacted a tree. Smith was operating his 2015 Hyundai Elantra westbound and stopped on the left shoulder. Doughty left his vehicle and walked toward Smith’s vehicle along the left shoulder of the roadway. Masters was operating his 2016 GMC Sierra westbound and was unable to make the turn at the bottom of the hill and left the roadway on the left side. The front of Masters’ vehicle struck Doughty and the front passenger corner of his vehicle struck the rear driver’s corner of Smith’s vehicle. Deputy Bellows was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 27, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Newcastle involving Christy A. Sykes, 42, of South Bristol, and Evan S. Strusinski, 46, of Camden. Sykes was operating her 2017 Jeep Compass northbound when she struck a deer. Strusinski was also operating his 2015 Toyota Tacoma northbound and was unable to avoid striking the deer which was hit by Sykes. Reserve Deputy Elwell was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 27, an accident occurred on Boothbay Road in Edgecomb involving Adrienne L. Warren, 59, of Boothbay. Warren was operating her 2008 Ford Explorer southbound when a deer ran into the roadway and was struck. Deputy 1st Class Collamore was the investigating officer.
