Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 329 calls for service for the period of March 26 to April 2. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 4,196 calls for service.
On March 27, Deputy David Bellows was dispatched to a complaint of theft and vandalism to a vehicle in the Bristol area. The complainant said someone had stolen the catalytic converter from his 1996 Toyota Tacoma. Further investigation will follow if leads develop.
March 29, Zachary J. Cappelletti, 43, of Bristol, was issued summonses for failing to make oral or written accident report and leaving the scene of a property damage accident, on Rock Schoolhouse Road, Bristol, by Deputy Jonathan Colby.
March 27, Michael A. Tibbetts, 62, of Bath, was arrested on a Brunswick Police Department warrant for negotiating a worthless instrument, on Route 1, Newcastle, by Deputy Chase Bosse.
March 29, Richard D. Corbett, 58, of Bath, was arrested for violating conditions of release, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Deputy Alonzo Connor.
On March 26, an accident occurred on Gardiner Road in Dresden involving Laura L. De Haas, 51, of Winthrop. De Haas was operating her 2010 Toyota Venza northbound when a deer ran into the roadway and was struck. Deputy 1st Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On March 26, an accident occurred on Gardiner Road in Dresden involving Jeffrey P. Browne, 29, of China. Browne was operating his 2004 Volkswagen Golf southbound when two deer ran into the roadway and struck his vehicle. Deputy 1st Class Collamore was the investigating officer.
On March 27, an accident occurred on Kingfisher Road in Bristol involving Jill I. Linzee, 62, of New Harbor. Linzee was pulling her 2010 Toyota Prius out of Kingfisher Drive onto Bristol Road to make way for another vehicle entering Kingfisher Drive. As she pulled onto the right shoulder of the northbound lane of Bristol Road, she put the vehicle into neutral and it rolled off the shoulder and into the right-side ditch, damaging the undercarriage, in the area of the body, under the driver’s door. Deputy Bellows was the investigating officer.
On March 27, an accident occurred on Alna Road in Alna involving Christopher M. Marcoux, 46, of Wiscasset. Marcoux was operating his 2017 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound when he struck a turkey. Deputy 1st Class Collamore was the investigating officer.
On March 27, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Mary Catherine A. Wilson, 38, of Boothbay. Wilson was operating her 2019 Ford Fusion northbound when she lost control of her vehicle and struck a CMP pole. Deputy Ryan Chubbuck was the investigating officer.
On March 28, an accident occurred on East Pond Road in Nobleboro involving Sheldon L. Leonard, 53, of Jefferson. Leonard was operating his 2018 Nissan Frontier southbound when a deer entered the roadway from the left side and was struck. Deputy Colby was the investigating officer.
On March 28, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Nobleboro involving Deborah M. Pooley, 66, of Edgecomb, and William P. Kaufmann, 58, of Albion. Pooley was operating her 2008 Chrysler Sebring southbound on Route 1. Kaufmann attempted to turn his 2011 Hino 338 truck left (northbound) onto Route 1 from Center Street, when the front of his vehicle impacted the rear of Pooley’s vehicle. Kaufmann said he did not see Pooley’s vehicle when he attempted to turn left. Deputy Bellows was the investigating officer.
On March 28, an accident occurred on Rock Schoolhouse Road in Bristol involving Zachary J. Cappelletti, 43, of Auburn. Cappelletti was operating his 1997 Toyota Corolla southbound when he lost control, went off the roadway and struck a tree. Deputy Colby was the investigating officer.
On March 30, an accident occurred on Main Street in Newcastle involving Gail D. Daigle, 54, of Dresden. Daigle had parked her 2017 Ford Escape in the parking lot of the Newcastle Publick House when she discovered her vehicle had been damaged on the passenger-side front fender/door. Reserve Deputy Dwight Fowles was the investigating officer.
On March 31, an accident occurred on Townhouse Road in Whitefield involving Jennifer L. Beckwith, 29, of Machiasport, and Kristy A. Perkins, 32, of Wiscasset. Beckwith was operating her 2006 Subaru Outback southbound and Perkins was operating her 2013 Ford Edge southbound behind Beckwith. Beckwith said she was looking for a driveway and was unsure where exactly it was located. Beckwith said she put on her right blinker and pulled to the right, then put on her left blinker to pull into a residence on Townhouse Road. Perkins said Beckworth put on her right blinker and pulled to the right, so she started to pass Beckworth’s vehicle on the left side, then Beckworth turned in front of her vehicle and the vehicles collided. Detective Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
