Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 266 calls for service for the period of Aug. 13-20. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 9,753 calls for service.
Arrests
Aug. 14, Haven A. Richards, 57, of Bowdoin, was arrested on a Sagadahoc County indictment warrant, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, where he turned himself in to Deputy David Bellows.
Aug. 15, Stephen A. Reny, 18, of Boothbay, was arrested for domestic violence criminal mischief and issued a summons for minor possessing liquor, on Lindsay Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Chase Bosse.
Aug. 16, Brandi P. Nickerson, 35, of Frankfort, was arrested for operating under the influence (drugs or combo) – two priors, and endangering the welfare of a child, on Route 1, Edgecomb, by Sgt. Kevin Dennison.
Aug. 16, Nathaniel A. Grasser, 24, of Dresden, was arrested on a Lincoln County District Court warrant due to his bail being revoked, on Cross Road, Alna, by Deputy Chad Gilbert.
Aug. 17, Adam M. Peaslee, 27, of Dresden, was arrested for operating under the influence – one prior, violating condition of release, driving to endanger, unsafe/defective vehicle, refusing to submit to arrest or detention, terrorizing, and failing to stop for an officer, on Cross Road, Alna, by Deputy Andrew Miner, who was assisted by Sgt. Jared Mitkus.
Aug. 19, Crystal L. Vickrey, 40, of Westport Island, was arrested on a Lincoln County District Court warrant for failure to appear, at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Wiscasset, where she turned herself in to Detective Scott Hayden.
Accidents
On Aug. 13, an accident occurred on Benner Road in Bristol involving Louis M. Penta, 30, of Revere, Mass. Penta was operating his 2017 Ford Escape southbound when he swerved to avoid a small animal in the roadway and lost control of his vehicle. As a result, his vehicle crossed the centerline and crashed into a guardrail. Deputy 1st Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Aug. 14, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Allie Simoes, 21, of New Bedford, Mass., and John E. Tilton, 68, of Newcastle. Simoes was backing her 2006 Toyota Corolla out of a parking space and struck Tilton’s 2011 GMC truck, which was parked. Deputy 1st Class Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Aug. 14, an accident occurred on Corey Lane in Boothbay involving Willis S. Clifford, 82, of Edgecomb, and Louis M. Rioux, 73, of Port Charlotte, Fla. Clifford had parked his 2014 Ford F-150 legally in the Boothbay post office parking lot. Rioux had parked his 2003 Ford legally in the parking lot. While Clifford was attempting to back out of the parking spot, the rear passenger corner of his vehicle impacted the rear passenger corner of Rioux’s vehicle. Deputy Bellows was the investigating officer.
On Aug. 14, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Edgecomb involving Wesley J. Shanholtz, 54, of Boothbay Harbor, and Harry E. Calmar, 60, of New London, Conn. Calmar was operating his 2010 Volvo XC70 northbound and turned right (southbound) onto Boothbay Road. Shanholtz was operating his 2018 Ford F-350 in the same direction, behind Calmar’s vehicle. Calmar stopped suddenly in the roadway, Shanholtz was unable to stop quickly enough and the front of Shanholtz’s vehicle impacted the rear of Calmar’s vehicle. Deputy Bellows was the investigating officer.
On Aug. 18, an accident occurred on Mills Road in Whitefield involving George L. King, 50, of Whitefield, and Ronald O. Atwood, 85, of Whitefield. King was attempting to turn his 2004 Nissan Pathfinder left (southbound) onto Mills Road. Atwood was operating his 2008 Hyundai Accent northbound when the front driver’s corner of King’s vehicle impacted the front passenger corner of Atwood’s vehicle. Deputy Bellows was the investigating officer.
On Aug. 16, an accident occurred on Rockland Road in Windsor involving William L. Clarke, 62, of Leeds. Clarke was operating his 2019 Dodge Caravan eastbound on Route 17, approximately 100 feet west of the Whitefield town line, when he hit a coyote, which was traveling from north to south. Deputy Bosse was the investigating officer.
On Aug. 16, an accident occurred on Gardiner Road in Dresden involving Madison H. Doucette, 23, of Wiscasset, and Albert C. Letourneau, 44, of Litchfield. Doucette was operating her 2007 Honda Civic northbound when she stopped in the roadway, preparing to turn left onto Middle Road. Letourneau was operating his 2014 Chevrolet Silverado westbound on Middle Road when he failed to stop at the stop sign and struck Doucette’s vehicle. Deputy Gilbert was the investigating officer.
On Aug. 17, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Ian R. Ramsey, 43, of Brunswick, and Michael Reiner, 62, of Weston, Conn. Ramsey was operating his 2003 Subaru Legacy southbound in Boothbay Center. When he approached the traffic circle, he struck Reiner’s 2017 Audi Q5, causing minor damage. Sgt. Mitkus was the investigating officer.
On Aug. 17, an accident occurred on River Road in Edgecomb involving Andrew J. Longe, 28, of South Bristol. Longe was operating his 2014 Ford F-150 northbound when he hit a bump in the road, which caused his side airbags to deploy. He said this caused him to go off the road onto the grass shoulder. Deputy Caleb Poirier was the investigating officer.
On Aug. 19, an accident occurred on Lower Round Pond Road in Bristol involving James R. Poland, 83, of Round Pond. Poland was operating his 1998 Ford F-150 southbound on Route 32 when he made a right turn onto Lower Round Pond Road and a bottle of water fell over. Poland attempted to grab the bottle of water and went off the right side of the roadway. As a result, he struck an old Central Maine Power Co. pole that had already sustained damage from a previous crash. Deputy 1st Class Collamore was the investigating officer.
