Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 239 calls for service for the period of Oct. 1-8. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 11,343 calls for service.
On Oct. 4, Deputy Daniel Sceviour was dispatched to a report of a burglary and criminal mischief to a business in the Boothbay area. The complainant said someone pried open a door to his business, however, he did not notice anything missing. Further investigation will follow if leads develop.
Oct. 3, a 17-year-old male juvenile from Bremen was issued a summons for possession of marijuana, at Lincoln Academy, Newcastle, by Deputy Sean Pfahler.
Oct. 4, David E. Jackson, 48, of Whitefield, was issued a summons for allowing dog to be at large, on Heath Road, Whitefield, by Deputy Caleb Fortin.
Oct. 4, Daniel R. Jackson, 45, of Whitefield, was issued a summons for allowing dog to be at large, on Heath Road, Whitefield, by Deputy Fortin.
Oct. 4, Michael E. Hilgendorf, 69, of Boothbay, was arrested for violating condition of release and violating a protection order, on Pension Ridge Road, Boothbay, by Lt. Brendan Kane, who was assisted by Sgt. Jared Mitkus.
On Oct. 2, an accident occurred on Lewis Hill Road in Newcastle involving Ricardo Sastre Jr., 42, of Casco. Sastre was operating his 2016 Hino box truck northbound when he struck a low-hanging wire, causing minor damage to the top of the truck. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 5, an accident occurred on East Pond Road in Nobleboro involving James Hanna, 76, of Boothbay. Hanna was operating his 2008 Volvo 70 eastbound when he was unable to avoid striking a deer in the roadway. Sgt. Mitkus was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 7, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Brett J. Cowan, 23, of New Harbor. Cowan was operating his 2015 GMC Sierra northbound and, as he was proceeding forward, he began to lose control of his vehicle. As a result, his vehicle began to spin counter-clockwise, leaving the roadway on the northbound shoulder. Upon leaving the shoulder, it struck several small trees and a ditch before coming to rest. Deputy Sceviour was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 7, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Thomas P. Montuori, 39, of Bristol. Montuori was operating his 2012 Dodge Ram southbound and, as he was proceeding forward, he lost control and skidded off the roadway and onto the southbound shoulder. Upon doing so, he skidded sideways, flipping over two times in a field area before coming to rest. Deputy Sceviour was the investigating officer.
