Game wardens and state troopers located a missing Whitefield woman with dementia in the woods off Gardiner Road at about 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 13.
Darlene Bell, 66, was exhibiting signs of advanced hypothermia, according to a statement by a spokesman for the Maine Warden Service. Delta Ambulance took her to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta.
Bell has last been seen at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, Cpl. John MacDonald said in the statement. Authorities were called late Thursday afternoon when it was determined that she was missing from her home.
Searchers found Bell in the woods behind a residence about a quarter-mile from her home on Gardiner Road, also known as Route 126, according to the statement.
