Accidents
Nov. 8: Officer Chris Spear investigated an accident on Atlantic Highway at 12:19 p.m. Richard Bissett, 22, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2003 Toyota sedan. Judith Hunt, 70, of Newcastle, was driving a 2008 Jeep utility vehicle. Bissett was entering the roadway and did not yield the right-of-way to Hunt, who was southbound on Atlantic Highway.
Nov. 10: Sgt. Jamie Wilson investigated an accident on Friendship Road at 7:38 p.m. Taylor Simmons, 21, of Friendship, was driving a 2014 Volkswagen sedan south on Friendship Road. A deer ran into the roadway in front of Simmons, who was unable to avoid striking it. There were no injuries.
Nov. 11: Sgt. Wilson investigated an accident at the intersection of Finntown Road and Colonel Stairs Road at 6:58 p.m. Brandon Taylor, 22, of Rockland, was driving a 1997 Chevrolet utility vehicle west on Colonel Stairs Road. Taylor came to the intersection with Finntown Road and the stop sign at the intersection was missing. Taylor did not notice the intersection until he entered Finntown Road. The Taylor vehicle skidded across Finntown Road and struck a large tree.
Nov. 12: Officer John Lash investigated an accident on Winslows Mills Road at 9:56 p.m. Christopher Sabien, 24, of Friendship, was driving a 2009 Chevrolet pickup truck north on Winslows Mills Road when he lost control of the vehicle, which went off the road on the southbound side.
Investigations
Nov. 9: Officer Larry Hesseltine investigated a report from the German Church that someone damaged a window and stole $5 in cash.
Nov. 11: Officer Hesseltine investigated a report of the theft of a camo backpack.
Nov. 14: Officer Thomas Bartunek investigated a report of the theft of a phone.
Officers responded to 119 calls for service.
