George Faux has applied for a limited-purpose (experimental) aquaculture lease to grow American/Eastern oysters, using suspended culture techniques on a 0.87-acre site located northeast of Glidden Point, south of Great Salt Bay, upper Damariscotta River, Newcastle, Maine. Other compatible uses of the area would be permitted. The application is posted
on the DMR website at www.maine.gov/dmr/aquaculture, under “Pending Aquaculture Lease Applications.”
The Commissioner announces a public comment period for this application.
A public hearing is required only if requested in writing by five (5) or more interested persons prior to the comment deadline.
