The Commissioner has issued a 3-year lease, SHE LE2x, on acre-site located in the upper Sheepscot River, near Lehman
Newcastle, Maine to Maine Oyster, Inc. of Freeport, Maine bottom culture of American/Eastern oysters. The lease must be
in accordance with both U.S. Coast Guard requirements and DMR 2.80. Dragging, shellfish harvesting, and disturbance of the bottom prohibited on the lease site except by authorization of the leaseholder. Other public uses that are not inconsistent with the purposes of the are permitted within the lease boundaries, pursuant to lease statutes, 12 MRS §§ 6072, 6072-A, & 6072-B.
