The Commissioner is considering an application to renew for twenty years to June 8, 2038 a 7.75- acre lease, DAM JP2, located south of Jack’s Point, Damariscotta River, Newcastle, Maine, held by Glidden Point Oyster Co., Inc. for the purposes of cultivating American/Eastern oysters, northern quahogs/hard clams, and soft clams using bottom culture techniques.
The lessee would be bound by the terms and conditions of the existing lease. A public hearing is not required unless requested by five (5) or more interested persons. Written comments or requests for a hearing, including a statement of the reasons for the request, must be submitted on or before September 13, 2018 to the address below.
