The Newcastle Board of Selectmen is conducting a Public Hearing on Monday, October 22nd at 7pm at the Newcastle Fire Station on River Road for Articles 2 and 3 on the November 6, 2018 Referendum Ballot.
ARTICLE 2: Shall the Town of Newcastle enact the “Single Use Plastic Carryout Bags and Foam Food Containers Ban
Ordinance” to prohibit stores from providing customers with single use plastic carryout bags for the purpose of transporting
food or merchandise out of the store; and to ban polystyrene foam containers for the packaging, serving and sale of food and beverages by restaurants, stores and other establishments; and to ban the retail sale of polystyrene foam food and beverage
containers in stores?
