a. Bids to be received no later than Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the Offi ce of the Superintendent, located at 51
Emery Lane in Boothbay Harbor Me. 04538.
b. Bids to be marked as “Roof Bid” “Southport Central School”
c. Roof job to be completed As Soon As Possible after June 19, 2017.
d. References of similar size projects to be attached to your bid.
e. Certifi cate of Insurance to be included with the bid.
f. Bids to be opened on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Offi ce of the Superintendent located at 51 Emery Lane in Boothbay Harbor ME 04538.
g. The Superintendent of Schools and or the members of the Southport Central School Committee, reserve the right to waive
all formalities, and to reject any and all bids (and to accept any bid).
Roof Information
1. All work will be completed in accordance with applicable OSHA safety standards.
2. Remove the existing roofi ng materials down to deck.
3. Replace any deteriorated or damaged roof decking or roof vents as needed. *To be completed as a change order to the base contract, after review with the facilities manager, Dave Benner.
4. Install Grace Brand Ice & Water Shield over the fi rst three feet of the roofs edge and counter fl ashing area at the roofs edges.
5. CertainTeed Landmark TL Architectural Asphalt Shingles, w/Lifetime Warranty & 100 mph Wind Warranty to be used.
Color of the shingle to match the existing new shingles on the school’s roof, verify with the facilities manager, Dave Benner.
6. Shingles will be applied using 1 ¼” galvanized roof nails, (no staples).
7. Rake and sweep nightly to keep the ground free of debris.
8. Once the project is completed the grounds surrounding the work area, should be restored to the previous state (no debris).
9. List all warranties including but not limited to the Manufactures Warranty on materials & supplies and workmanship warranty.
10. Provide hourly labor rate for all work to be completed for any additional change orders.
