The Damariscotta Board of Selectmen will hold a Special Town Meeting on January 17, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. at the Municipal Office located at 21 School St. to vote for following:
– Article 1: To choose a Moderator to preside at said meeting.
– Article 2: Shall the Town vote to approve and enact an Ordinance entitled “TOWN OF DAMARISCOTTA, MAINE – MORATORIUM ORDINANCE REGARDING RETAIL RECREATIONAL MARIJUANA” (draft approved by the Board of Selectmen January 3, 2018) that institutes a moratorium on all retail recreational marijuana activity, and the location, operation or licensing of any and all “Retail Marijuana Social Clubs” and “Retail Marijuana Establishments” as defined in 7 M.R.S.A. chapter 417, including but not limited to, retail marijuana stores, retail marijuana cultivation facilities, retail marijuana products manufacturing facilities, and retail marijuana testing facilities within the municipality for a period of up to 180 days? (This Ordinance is posted at the Town Office)
– Article 3: Shall the Town vote to authorize the Selectmen to negotiate and execute a purchase/sale agreement with Shalom
LLC, dba, King Eider’s Pub, for the sale of approximately 390 square feet of asphalt pavement and granite curbing on Elm Street adjacent to King Eider’s Pub and to take all other actions necessary to effectuate the purpose of this Article?
– Article 4: Shall the Town approve the allocation of revenues for cemetery lot sales to the Town’s Cemetery Trust Fund, retroactive to FY 2015 Budget Year?
– Article 5: Shall the Town approve the creation of a new capital reserve account for improvements to the Town’s Biscay Beach Park entitled “Biscay Beach”?
