The Damariscotta Fire Department (DFD) will be selling two fire trucks. The first is a 1988 GMC chassis built into a Heavy Rescue by E-One. The vehicle includes a walk in area in the back plus side compartments running along both sides with a 2 person cab and 15kW PTO driven generator. The DFD will be accepting sealed bids for this truck (Rescue 5) which must be postmarked by June 7th and can be mailed to Damariscotta Fire Department; P.O. Box 1206; Damariscotta, ME 04543. Bids will be opened at 6:00 p.m. at the Damariscotta Fire Station on Tuesday, June 18th. The vehicle is available for viewing at 27 Massasoit Drive in Damariscotta, interested parties can contact the Chief by phone at 207-380-6880 or e-mail at firechief@damariscottame.com.
The second vehicle is a 1984 4-wheel drive GMC with 750 gpm front mount pump and 500 gallon water tank and booster hose reel. This truck (Engine 2) will be sold at public auction to benefit the DFD’s vehicle reserve fund on June 22nd at 11:30 a.m. The location for the auction will be at the Damariscotta Fire Station on 27 Massasoit Drive in Damariscotta. This vehicle can be viewed beforehand by contacting the Chief.
Both vehicles are sold as is, where is and have no warranties expressed or implied. The DFD reserves the right to reject all bids for the sealed bid process on Rescue 5. Successful bidders will be responsible to remove the trucks within a reasonable amount of time from the station and remove all lettering and emergency lights as necessary to comply with Maine State Statutes.
