The Town of Bristol is seeking a General Contractor for detailed design and construction of a pool-and-weir fish ladder at the town-owned Bristol Mills Dam.
Outline design has been completed and permits received based on these, but detailed engineering drawings have not been commissioned to date.
The Town requests interested firms to submit a statement of their qualifications for construction of such a fish ladder, including experience in design and construction of similar fish passages; expected budget; proposed sub-contractors and alternates; references and proof of insurance. A site survey, the permitted outline design and geotechnical boring data are available on application to the Bristol Town Administrator.
Preference may be given to those with construction experience in the Midcoast Maine region and with working with the US Army Corps of Engineers, the Maine Department of Environmental Protection and the Maine Department of Marine Resources.
Statements of Qualifications should be submitted by 4 pm on October 2, 2019, in sealed envelopes addressed to ‘Fish Passage Qualifications, Town of Bristol, PO Box 339, 1268 Bristol Road, Bristol ME 04539.’ The selected firm or firms will be invited to discuss the project with the Town prior to being asked to submit a formal Proposal for the work.
Selectmen reserve the right to invite or to refuse to invite any firm responding to this invitation at their sole discretion.
