The Town of Edgecomb, Maine seeks proposals for:
Removal and Replacement of a shingled roof at Edgecomb Town Hall
The Town of Edgecomb is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to furnish and install a new shingle roof on the Town
Hall, Town Hall Rd, Edgecomb, ME.
Scope of work:
Provide all necessary materials, labor and equipment to complete installation of new asphalt shingles on the Town Hall according to the following scope:
• Strip roof to bare wood.
• Re-nail existing plywood or other boards where needed.
• Apply two courses of ice and water shield up from the eave of roof, around chimney, pipes and other necessary areas.
• Cover remaining roof with high performance titanium underlayment.
• Apply an IKO or similar Dual Black 30 year architectural shingles.
• Repair lead around chimneys.
• Replace any vent stacks boots.
• White drip edge applied to both eve and rake roof edges
• Contractor shall keep work area neat at the end of each work day and contained through the duration of the job.
• Bidders should also separately submit cost of applying a ½” plywood of the entire roof deck, if deemed needed by contractor
and client.

Proposers must comply with the following submission procedures:
1. SUBMISSION: Sealed proposals shall be submitted marked “Selectman – Roof Bid” on the outside of the envelope, addressed to: Selectmen – Roof Bid

Proposals will be accepted until 4:00pm August 23rd, 2018 (Thursday). Proposals received after this time will be returned
unopened. Faxed proposals will not be accepted. Proposals will be opened at the Selectmens meeting August 27th.

3. RESERVATION OF RIGHTS: The Town of Edgecomb reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, to waive technical, or legal deficiencies, and to accept any proposal that it deems to be in the best interest of the Town.
4. SCHEDULE: The contractor shall complete the work by November 1, 2018.
5. SEPARABILITY: The Town of Edgecomb will accept only full packages for all requested elements. Proposals submitted without all scope of work items included shall be disqualifi ed.
6. INSURANCE: A copy of applicable insurance certificate(s) must accompany bids. Minimum coverage is $1,000,000 per occurrence, $2,000,000 aggregate on general liability; Anyone involved with project needs to be covered by Worker’s Compensation Coverage.
7. FIRE: No flames or fire shall be used on the roof.
8. SAFE ENTRANCE: Contractor must provide safe entrance to the offi ces during business hours.
9. WATERTIGHT: Roof must remain watertight over nights and weekends.
10. ADDENDUM: Bidders should also separately submit cost of applying a ½” plywood of the entire roof deck, if deemed needed by contractor and client.
