It shall be unlawful to harvest clams from the Medomak River without a shellfish license.
Violation of the Shellfish Conservation Ordinance could result in a fine.

Conservation work may be completed in accordance with the Waldoboro Shellfish Ordinance or be purchased at $11 per hour or a combination of both. (Conservation work and payments must total a minimum of 6 hours). ALL CONSERVATION WORK AND CONSERVATION PAYMENTS MUST BE COMPLETED OR PAID PRIOR TO THE SHELLFISH APPLICATION DEADLINE OF JUNE 14, 2019. Seniors over 60 years of age are not required to complete conservation work and are eligible for the reduced fee. Resident/Non-Resident Jr.’s are also exempt from completing conservation and already receive reduced fees.

Commercial license issuance period will be July 8, 2019 to July 18, 2019. The licenses will be sold in classes for both resident and non-resident as follows:
Class A: Applicants holding a license for three (3) of the last 3 years, issue dates will be July 8th and 9th, 2019.
Class B: Applicants holding a license for two (2) of the last 3 years, issue dates will be July 10th and 11th, 2019.
Class C: Applicants holding a license for one (1) of the last 3 years, issue dates will be July 12th and 15th, 2019.
Class D: Applicants who have held a license for none (0) of the last 3 years, issue dates will be July 16th, 17th and 18th, of 2019.
All applications must be turned in to the
Town Clerk by
6:00 p.m. on June 14, 2019.
