The Town of Wiscasset is accepting sealed bids on the municipality’s interest on properties acquired by a tax lien foreclosure.
1. Map R04-002-003 Mobile home only with tenant located at 970 Gardiner Road Lot #3.
2. Map R05-058-E-“ON” Mobile home only located at 31 Easy Street.
3. Map R05-051-A3 Mobile Home only located at 39 Bumpa Lane.
4. Map R01-036 described in Book 4985 Page 299 in the Lincoln County Registry of Deeds located at
151 Pooler Pit Road.
Bids will be accepted until 3:00 PM on August 20, 2019. Bids must be accompanied by a deposit of
10% of the purchase price in the form of a bank cashier’s check. The deposit will be retained as a credit
towards the purchase price. Bids shall state, at a minimum, the amount of the offer, the property map and
lot that is being bid on, the bidder’s name, address, and telephone number(s). The Wiscasset Board of
Selectmen will open and read aloud all bids received at their meeting that evening at 6:00 PM and then
award the bid.
All other bids will be returned to the unsuccessful bidders within 30 days. The successful bidder shall certify that the remainder of the bid price will be received no later than September 19, 2019. Following receipt of the full bid price, the Board of Selectmen shall execute a quitclaim deed to the successful bidder. If the successful bidder fails to complete the transaction, the deposit shall be forfeited to the Town of Wiscasset, and the bid acceptance shall be deemed void.
The Board of Selectmen may thereafter negotiate a sale of the property with any unsuccessful bidder. It shall be the responsibility of the purchaser to pay their share of the State of Maine Real Estate Transfer tax, the cost to be determined at closing. The Town of Wiscasset shall fi le the deed and the transfer tax form at the Lincoln County Registry of Deeds. The tax map and other information regarding the property may be viewed at the Wiscasset Town Offi ce during regular business hours, or on the town’s website (www.wiscasset.org).
