Lincoln Academy’s 2019 Homecoming will take place Sept. 26-29. Events will include the traditional parade, bonfire, and dance, as well as home contests in every sport. This year’s theme celebrates the 50th anniversary of Woodstock.
Homecoming weekend kicks off Thursday, Sept. 26 with a home cross-country meet. The race begins at the LA baseball field, with girls running at 4 p.m. and boys at 4:30 p.m.
On Friday, Sept. 27, the traditional Homecoming Parade will begin at 6 p.m. in front of Bath Savings Institution, featuring all athletic teams, the traditional Spirit Float, and the LA Marching Band. The parade will march down Main Street and up Academy Hill to LA, where the LA Alumni Council will host a bonfire and cookout while students have open turf time on the William A. Clark field. From 7:30-10:30 p.m., there will be a student Homecoming dance in the gym.
On Saturday, Sept. 28, all LA teams have contests starting at 10 a.m. on the turf field with the varsity field hockey game versus Oceanside High School. Junior varsity field hockey will play at 11:30 a.m., followed by all soccer teams versus Medomak Valley High School beginning at 1 p.m.: girls JV at 1 p.m., boys JV at 3 p.m., girls varsity at 5 p.m., and boys varsity at 7 p.m. Varsity game admission is $3 for adults and $1 for LA students, with children under age 5 admitted free. Gate admission benefits the Lincoln Academy Alumni Council.
At 1 p.m. on Saturday, the LA Boosters will host the traditional Homecoming chicken barbecue. Chicken dinners will be on sale for $10 ($8 for chicken only), and pies made by Boosters volunteers will also be sold until supplies run out.
