From the principal’s desk
By Julia Levensaler
The budget committee of the board continues to meet and hear the proposal from the district’s administrators. On Monday, March 13, the budget meeting took place at Warren Community School at 6:30 p.m., with presentations from the high school, special education, and technology.
I recently presented Miller’s budget and detailed our need for two interventionists to assist students not meeting the benchmarks in math and reading. These positions are not currently funded in the budget proposal and would have to be added by the board in order to be taken to the public vote. I also highlighted the addition of funds to the instructional supply line that provides materials teachers require in order to meet the needs of our students.
Budget meetings are scheduled to continue at 6:30 p.m. for the two weeks. Those who are unable to attend and have questions or concerns should feel free to contact me.
