Principal’s message
By Joshua McNaughton
Thank you to all of our eighth-grade students who participated in the National Assessment of Educational Progress assessment. The spring sports sign-up sheet is now available on the bulletin board across from the school library.
As a result of Marcie Abbott’s application for the Cole Family Foundation grant, Whitefield Elementary School has received 25 new Amazon Fire Tablets! Thank you to Mrs. Abbott for the time and effort it took to apply, and to the Cole family for its generous donation. The Fire Tablets will be available for student use in early March.
Tech and basketball
In technology, third- and fourth-graders have started a new project. Since coming back from vacation. Fourth-graders started scrimmaging in the basketball unit this week and they are doing a really great job. What a talented group of kids!
Zumba fundraiser for Kieve
The sixth grade will host Family Zumba Night at the school from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, March 31. All proceeds will go toward helping with the cost of students attending a four-day program at Kieve next month. This is a school and community event. All are welcome. Wear sneakers and comfortable clothes and be ready to spend a couple hours dancing and having a great time as a family.
The cost is $5 per student, $7 per adult, and $10 per family.
