Amatos Opens Legion Season With Three Wins

Amatos 3 – Monmouth 0Aaron Dennison and Luke Morrill combined for a three hit shutout in Amatos’ 3-0 win over Monmouth on June 13. Hitting for Amatos were Anderson Murphy with a double and two singles, Larson Platt a triple and Alex Goldrup, Nick Lemieux and Steve Genthner a single each. Hitting for Monmouth were Tyler Cobb, Cody Plourde and Nate Jillson (double) with one each.Amatos 9 – Monmouth 7Amatos clipped Monmouth 9-7 in game two. Chris Benedict (3I,3K,3B,3H,3R), Dylan Meklin (1 2/3I,3K,3B,3H,4R) and Luke Morrill (2 1/3I, 3K,1B,2H,0R) combined in the win. Dale Winchenbach led the offensive charge with a triple and two singles, Alex Goldrup hit a double and single, Alec Young a triple and Morrill a single. Hitting for Monmouth were Plourde with three, Zach Lennett two and Forrest Dwyer, Zach Lennett, Josh Prue and Cam Morin one each.Amatos 11 – Franklin 2Amatos made it three in a row on June 16 with an 11-2 win over Franklin City. Gentry Burch (2I,1K,2B1H,2R), Matt Shields (2I,1HP,0H,0R) and Alec Young (3I,2K,1B,1H,0R) pitched in the win. Hitting for Amatos were Dylan Meklin a double and two singles, Platt with a double and single, Genthner a homerun, Dave Maguire and Winchenbach a double each, and Lemieux, Morrill, and Anderson Murphy a single each. Hitting for Franklin were Dylan Tisor with two singles.
