Number five seed Rockland upset fourth ranked Wiscasset 12-1 Tuesday in Wiscasset in the Midcoast Babe Ruth playoffs. Daren Wood took the loss. Positions were not listed for Rockland. Rockland batted around for eight runs in the sixth inning to end the game early.
Hitting for Wiscasset were Grant Hefler with three singles, and Ranta one. Hitting for Rockland were Zach Roman with two doubles and two singles, and Jacob Barrett, Nick Mazurek, Kirt Ivonen and Mat Waldron a single each.
Waldoboro 11 – Damariscotta 0
Eighth seed Waldoboro upset top seed Damariscotta in Midcoast Babe Ruth playoff action Tuesday in Waldoboro.
Nick DePatsy threw a two hit shutout (6K,4B,1HP) to lift Waldoboro to an 11-0 five inning mercy ruling win. Matthew Tomasello took the loss (4I,3R,5H,3K,1HP), Baker Gove (8R,7H,1K,0B) and Cody Tozier (2B,1K) pitched in relief.
Damariscotta did not come with their A game, committing several errors in the game.
After two scoreless innings, Waldoboro got on the boards with two runs in the third on a single to Ollie Brown and back to back doubles to Nick DePatsy and Owen Gilbert (2RBI). They added a run in the fourth when Cam Robinson reached on an error and scored when Adam Eutsler was caught in a pickle between first and second.
Waldoboro broke the game open with an eight run fifth inning to end the game early. Brown reached on a error, DePatsy doubled and both came home when Gilbert reached on an error. Bryce Collamore doubled home Gilbert., Isaac Eutsler singled, A. Eutsler and Maty Moore hit RBI singles, and Brown a two run single.
Hitting for Waldoboro were DePatsy with two doubles and two singles, Brown two singles, A. Eutsler a double and single, Gilbert and Bryce Collamore a double each, and Isaac Eutsler and Moore a single. Hitting for Damariscotta were Cole Eugley and Brandon Barter a single each.
