Bath Savings softball team wrapped up a perfect season at Beach Field in Pemaquid on Saturday, with a 25-5 win over Colby & Gale in the Lincoln Little League softball championship game.
Danielle Pinkham went the distance for the undefeated Bath Savings squad (10K,5B.5H). Cassidy Bodley took the loss (4I,16B,9H,24R) and Shailyn Rittle pitched in relief (1H,3B).
Colby & Gale took a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning when Tally Benner walked and scored on a Samantha Cameron single.
Bath Savings scored three in the home half of the inning to take the lead for good. Sophie Schumacher walked and scored on an Olivia York single. Danielle Pinkham hit an RBI double and scored when Lauren Hunt reached on an error.
Colby & Gale scored one in the 2nd. Alex York walked, moved over on a Haley Cameron single and scored on a Kacey Harrison ground out.
Bath Savings plated five runs in the 2nd. Chassidy Day walked, Schumacher hit a bunt single, O. York, Christine Hilton and Lauren Hunt walked and all scored on passed balls.
Colby & Gale added a run in the 3rd. Cassidy Bodley singled, moved over on an S. Cameron single and stole home. Bath Savings added five more runs in the bottom of the 3rd. Madeline York, O. York and Pinkham walked and all three scored on a Hilton single. Kate Laemmle walked to set up a two run single to Lauren Hunt. Bath Savings batted around in the 4th for seven runs. Schumacher bunted home a run, Hilton singled home one and Hunt drove in two on an error.
Colby & Gale added a run in the 5th when C. Bodley reached on an error and scored on an S. Cameron ground out. Bath Savings plated five runs in the bottom of the 5th on seven walks and a three run triple from Pinkham.
Colby & Gale scored their final run in the top of the 6th. Marina Welton hit a lead off single, went to third on an outfield error and scored on a passed ball.
Hitting for Bath Savings were Pinkham with a triple, double and single, Schumacher, Hilton two singles each, and O. York, Kylie Poland and Hunt one single each. Hitting for Colby & Gale were S. Cameron with two singles, C. Bodley, Welton, and Haley Cameron a single each.
