Three Medomak Valley track and field athletes medalled at the State Class B track and field championships, held at MDI on June 6. Patrick O’Donnell placed fourth in the 800 in 2:00.46.
Josh Parmenter took seventh in the 300 hurdles in 44.22. Morgan Baum placed seventh in the javelin with a throw of 94’1″. Baum also placed ninth in the discus. Ribbons were awarded to the top seven places.
Tyler Isidro placed 19th in the 200. Alex MacKenzie was 15th in the triple jump and 19th in the long jump. The boys’ 4×800 relay was 10th with Joe Murphy, Josh Parmenter, Josh Anderson and O’Donnell. The 4×400 relay was 17th with Nate McBrien, Parmenter, Taylor MacNeill and O’Donnell, and their 4×100 team was 17th with Deering Genthner, Isidro, Parmenter and MacKenzie.
Kiana Ocean took 11th in the 1600 and Nicole Weaver 17th. Megan Wyllie was 20th in the 800. The girls’ 4×800 relay placed ninth with Ocean, Wyllie, Taylor Keefe and Weaver. Their 4×400 relay was 11th with Weaver, Wyllie, Ocean and Ashley Rackliff, and their 4×100 relay 22nd with Julia Ennamorati, Weaver, Rackliff and Lacy Massengale.
Medomak boys placed 20th out of 27 teams. Falmouth won the State Class B team title. For the girls, Waterville won the state title.
Lincoln Academy had two athletes qualify for the state meet. Nikki Leeman placed 11th in the 300 hurdles and 13th in the 400, hitting personal best marks in both events. Jian Giglia placed 24th in both the 400 and 200.
