Berry Crowned MVC High Jump Champion

Adrianne Berry won the Mt.Valley Conference high jump championship, clearing the bar at 5 feet even on May 28 at Cony High School in Augusta.

Five Wiscasset boys placed at the championship track meet. Dan Casey placed 3rd in the shot put with a personal best distance of 40’4″. Brian Campbell took 3rd in the 400 in 53.89 and 5th in the 200 in 24.64. Joe Chapman placed 4th in the long jump (18’2.15″) and 7th in the 200 in 25.21. Alex Smelcer (8th in the 800) and Cormac Walsh (8th in the discus) just missed medalling.

Wiscasset boys placed 3rd in the 4×400 relay in 3:55 and 4th in the 4×100 relay in 47.5

Lisbon girls won with 139 points, Winthrop 93, Dirigo 60, Hall-Dale 57, Monmouth 44, Jay 43, Mt.Valley 35, Boothbay 29, Madison 27, St.Dom’s 26, Mt.Abram 25, Livermore Falls 17, Telstar 14, Carrabec 14 and Wiscasset 10.

Lisbon boys also won the MVC team title, scoring 112 points, Madison 76, Hall-Dale 74.5, Boothbay 63.5, Livermore 59, Winthrop 47, Monmouth 47, Dirigo 42, Wiscasset 9th -30), Mt.Valley 29, St. Doms 22, Telstar 14, Carrabec 9 and Georges Valley 4.

Boothbay Region H.S.Matt Forgues won the MVC 1600 racewalk in 6:50 and placed 5th in the 800 run in 2:13. Kade Smith was 3rd in the racewalk in 8:58. Chase Brown was runner-up in both distance events, running the 1600 in 4:47 and 3200 in 10:14. Charles Chautur was 4th in the 300 hurdles in 44.86 and 7th in the 100 in 12:02. Nate Schwehm was 6th in the 1600 in 4:57. Nick Deniger took 5th in the discus (106’4″) and 7th in the shotput (37’3″). Robert Morton was 7th in the discus (99’5″).

Kristen Sibley placed 2nd in the javelin (91’7″) and 3rd in the shotput (28’9″). Eden McDaniel took 4th in the discus (78’10.5″) and Tiffany Tsang 5th (74’10”). Ashley Timm was 6th in the 200 in 29.75.
