Boothbay 3rd in West C. Regionals, WHS’s Pinkham Qualifies for States

Boothbay boys’ cross-country team placed third in the West Class C Regionals in Cumberland on Saturday to qualify for the State Class C meet. Orono won the Regional title and Bangor Christian was second.

Boothbay’s Chase Brown was West C runner-up in a time of 17:14, finishing behind winner Matt Guiod of Mattanawcook by 24 seconds. Matt Forgues placed eighth in 18:18, Tom Brown 21st in 19:04, Stephen Barter 43rd in 20:02, and Nick James 44th in 20:05.

Wiscasset had only four runners so did not register a team score. Brad Whitaker placed 42nd in 20 minutes flat, John Chapman 59th in 21:08, Gage Mumbower 64th in 21:28, and Ryan Urquhart 86th in 23:49.

Pinkham headed to StatesWiscasset girls had three runners, so did not compile a team score. Freshman Heidi Pinkham placed 26th in 24:36, to qualify for the State Class C meet, to be held in Spring Brook in Cumberland on Sat., Nov. 7. Crysta Brown placed 41st in 26:15, and Alyssa Urquart 63rd in 33:49.

Orono was the girls’ West C winner, beating out Greenville 43-36. Faith Mackey of Searsport was the West C champ in 21:14.
