Boothbay Region boys cross country team placed third in the State Class C championships, held at Troy Howard Middle School in Belfast in the wind and rain on Saturday.
Merriconeag, who Boothbay beat in a tie breaker in the West Regionals a week ago, won the State C title with 72 points.
Orono was second with 78 and Boothbay third with 80. Ft. Kent’s Matthew Toussaint was the State individual winner in 16:28
Joey Paolillo led the Seahawks, placing eighth in 17:38; followed by 15. Kyle Ames, 18:02; 17. Kyle Alamo, 18:05; 22. Matt Burnham, 18:08; 29. Kyler Carty, 18:23; 31. Daniel Drummond, 18:30; and 35. Trystan Mercier, 18:38.
Boothbay Region girls placed 11th. Orono girls were the State C champions, led by first place runner Hannah Steelman in 19:16.
Running for the Lady Seahawks were: 33. Hannah Morley, 22:15; 40. Morgan Crocker, 22:29; 57. Lincoln Hamblett, 23:07; 73. Kate Friant, 23:59; and 89. Maya Schwehm, 26:38.
State Class B
