The Seahawks girls tennis team fell 4-1 to Hall-Dale on Wednesday, April 30 in Boothbay. The Seahawks dropped to 1-1 on the season with the loss while undefeated Hall-Dale improved to 3-0.
Laura Chapman recorded the only match win of the day for the Seahawks by shutting out Marinn Perry 6-0, 6-0 in first singles. Hall-Dale’s Grace Leach beat Hannah Kreft 6-2, 6-0 in second singles. Robin Asch beat Boothbay’s Izzy Andreasen 6-2, 6-2 in third singles.
The Hall-Dale duo of Haven Desrosiers and Parula Clark beat Abby Orchard and Maddie Andreasen 7-6 (9-7), 2-6, 7-6 (7-4) in an extremely close first doubles match that saw two of the sets decided in overtime in favor of the Bulldogs.
Boothbay did not have enough players for the second doubles match and forfeited the point.
